Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty with Fat Transposition, Case 8

This 50-year-old San Francisco Bay Area patient wanted to change the appearance of her lower eyelids. For many years she had been concerned about the bags under her eyes, a feature that she felt made her look tired and angry. Upon exam, we found that she had a significant amount of fat under the eyes, causing prominent bags. This fat deposit also created a deep groove under the bags, casting a shadow and accentuating the aged appearance of the lower lids. She was an ideal candidate for Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty surgery using a fat transposition technique. With this technique we are able to preserve the natural volume under the lids, using the excess fat to fill in the groove below. The result is a smooth, youthful appearance without the hollowed-out look that can sometimes occur after lower eyelid surgery. Not only do her eyelids look refreshed, but the patient also looks considerably younger.
