What is a Nonsurgical Facelift?
There are several options available for patients who wish to rejuvenate their appearance, but who may not wish to pursue facelift surgery. The goal for these nonsurgical options is to achieve significant facial rejuvenation using minimally invasive techniques with minimal downtime.
Because we are specialists in facial cosmetics, the team at L&P Aesthetics can tailor a treatment plan to each patient’s lifestyle and goals. We know how to make subtle but powerful changes using injectables, Ultherapy®, skin resurfacing, and FaceTite that leave patients looking youthful, refreshed, and, most of all, natural. All three of these goals can be accomplished with minimal downtime outside of an operating room.

What to Expect & Options
Liquid Facelift Using Injectables
BOTOX or Dysport is used to treat wrinkles and folds that are due to muscle activity, such as between the brows or around the eyes and lips. It can relax certain muscles and reduce facial wrinkles and folds that contribute to an aged appearance. Only a highly trained professional can accomplish this while preserving facial expressions and keeping the overall result subtle, powerful, and enhancing. When used correctly, patients will experience excellent results for between 3 to 6 months.
Muscle Relaxing Agents

Dermal Fillers & Alternatives
The use of dermal fillers has evolved dramatically over the past several years. While traditionally fillers were used to treat the deep folds and wrinkles that live in the texture of our skin, expert placement of selected fillers can now be used to lift the volume-depleted areas of the face such as the cheeks, lips and jowls. It is so important that each treated area is not overdone. If just one feature looks unnatural, then the entire result suffers.
Ultherapy as an Alternative to a Facelift
Ultherapy, the only FDA-approved non-surgical, non-invasive treatment uses ultrasound technology and the body’s own natural healing process to lift and tighten loose skin on the eyebrow, jawline, neck and under the chin. The ultrasound energy stimulates the deep structural support layers of the skin without disturbing the surface of the skin.
Excellent candidates for a non-invasive facelift and/or Ultherapy are patients who want some lifting to look more refreshed and youthful, but are not yet ready for facelift surgery. Ideally, they have mild to moderate skin laxity. Patients with excessive skin laxity or considerable wrinkling or sun damage may not be good candidates. For these patients, we recommend a full or mid facelift.
Skin health and beauty must be considered when considering a non-surgical facelift. Skin resurfacing with superficial to medium depth peeling or laser skin resurfacing treatments can be performed in conjunction with Ultherapy and a liquid facelift. The goals of these treatments are to treat fine lines and wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, and enlarged pores and to bring back the natural glow of youthful, nourished skin.
FaceTite As A Minimally-Invasive Option
FaceTite is ideal for sculpting and defining the jawline, chin and neck but it is not completely noninvasive as the doctors do need to make a small incision in the treatment area. However, similar to Ultherapy, FaceTite can be done with light sedation, not general anesthesia and in a clinic room, not an operating room. FaceTite combines liposuction with radiofrequency energy to melt unwanted fat and tighten the overlying skin.

Combination of Midline Neck Lift, Facetite, and Chin Augmentation
This patient has been constantly complimented by her friends on her result. The midline neck lift is a procedure for those younger patients who have genetically developed some laxity in the neck. The chin augmentation sharpens her jawline and the facetted helped tighten the skin in the lower face and neck.
Young woman out of college addresses double-chin with Facetite procedure
EARLY results! This beautiful patient had a Facetite procedure just 3 weeks ago. These results are amazing, and they are premature. The real lasting results will show later on, so make sure to stay tuned for the finalized result.
L&P Midline Neck Lift, FaceTite & Chin Implant
This patient wanted to enhance her lower face and opted for this combination treatment with Drs. L&P – L&P Midline Neck Lift, FaceTite & Chin Implant. The Midline Neck Lift provides definition for the area under the chin and creates the crisp angle. The chin implant provides a nice subtle definition to the jawline and FaceTite helps tighten the skin.
Recovery and Beyond
Our core objective is to provide a safe, comfortable surgical experience that aspires to restore your appearance and aims to produce natural results. We will take the time to discuss your motivation for seeking rejuvenation of your face, neck or brow. We will then perform a detailed examination of the components of your face and its underlying structures. Photographs will be taken, and we will often use cutting-edge digital morphing software both as an educational tool and to create an individualized approach to your enhancement. After your consultation, we work with you to decide on a treatment plan based on what areas are to be addressed. A combination of oral medication, numbing cream and local anesthesia is often used to minimize any discomfort.
Facelift FAQs
Both a liquid facelift and Ultherapy are non-invasive, non-surgical procedures performed in our Palo Alto and Los Gatos offices. The entire experience lasts 60-90 minutes.
For a liquid facelift, using a very small needle, BOTOX and the chosen dermal filler(s) are injected into targeted areas. There is rarely much discomfort. Redness at the injection sites should subside within an hour. Bruising is infrequent but when present can last for a few days. This can be camouflaged with makeup. Patients can return to work immediately after liquid facelift treatment. Results from dermal fillers can be seen right away, but results from BOTOX may take 3-7 days for full effect.
There is no downtime with Ultherapy, and patients can return to work right away. Results will unfold over the course of 2-3 months and some patients have reported continued improvement for up to 6 months, including lifting of the skin on the neck, under the chin, jawline and on the brow. While Ultherapy does not duplicate the results of surgery, it has proven to be an inviting alternative for those who are not yet ready for surgery.
FaceTite is typically performed under light sedation. A narrow wand is inserted through a needle-sized hole in the skin which uses radio frequency (RFAL) energy to melt fat, tighten skin, and strengthen the fibers underneath the skin to reduce sagging. FaceTite can leave the lower face looking smoother, tighter and more youthful but it does come with a few days of downtime.
