Real Patient

The L&P Aesthetics facial plastic surgery fellowship program through the AAFPRS is a comprehensive, advanced training program designed to provide advanced facial surgical training along with insights into operating a thriving medical practice for aspiring facial plastic surgeons interested in starting their own practices or joining private practice.

The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) is the world’s largest specialty association for facial plastic surgery and represents more than 2,200 facial plastic and reconstructive surgeons throughout the world. Fellowship directors for the AAFPRS are selected by the organization and are recognized authorities in the teaching and practice of facial plastic surgery.

About the L&P Aesthetics Fellowship

In 2019, Drs. David Lieberman & Sachin Parikh were chosen by the AAFPRS to become fellowship directors and have cultivated an ideal facial plastic surgery training experience that allows fellows to gain in-depth expertise in both surgical and non-surgical procedures, including the deep plane facelift and neck lift, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, hair restoration, and the full range of medical spa treatments for the face and neck.

Fellows engage in all aspects of a busy clinical practice, developing the skills necessary to excel in patient care, surgical artistry, and leading a thriving business. In addition, L&P fellows will also have the opportunity to learn from co-fellowship directors including Dr. Umang Mehta, Dr. Chase Lay, and Dr. Harry Mittelman. The goal of the fellowship is to ensure the fellow receives broad, comprehensive exposure to the full breadth of facial cosmetic surgery and business development.

  • Umang Mehta has a prolific rhinoplasty practice specializing in both revision and primary rhinoplasty.
  • Chase Lay is an expert in eyelid surgeries with a specialty in Asian eyelid Surgery (sometimes referred to as Double Eyelid Surgery), fat transfer, and Asian Rhinoplasty.
  • Dr. Harry Mittelman helped pioneer facial chin implant surgery, facial cosmetic laser surgery, and techniques for facelift surgery. He was a member of the Stanford clinical faculty for over 20 years.
Dr. Lieberman & Dr. Parikh of L&P Aesthetics are AAFPRS fellowship directors.

Why choose L&P Aesthetics For Your Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship

The L&P fellowship program offers an unparalleled opportunity to advance your expertise in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery under the guidance of five double-board certified and highly skilled facial plastic surgeons – Drs. Lieberman, Parikh, Mehta, Lay and Mittleman.

During the year which begins in July and ends in late June, the fellow will have the opportunity to observe over 500 hours of surgery and perform up to 15 of their own surgeries. The first half of the fellowship is spent as an observer and assistant and the second is spent developing their own portfolio of patients and results.
